Gunbound Guide

The original Gunbound saw players control a tank, or "mobile", that would shoot bombs and bullets at other mobiles. Firing was controlled by managing the power and arc of your shot. You'd have to manage wind and the weight of various projectiles to aim accurately, and there were bonuses for hitting multiple mobiles, trick shots, and more. A major difference with the mobile version is that you control a team of three mobiles in 1v1 matches, with two mobiles spawning on the field initially. You get to choose the spawn location of your third mobile after losing your first one.Still, much like all of those free-to-play pool games you can get on your phone, you can ignore the grosser elements easily enough. Plus, it's Gunbound. Gunbound was awesome back in the day, and even though the mobile version comes with an aiming guide and it's pretty gross with the monetisation, it's still good fun for the daily commute. Gunbound is an artillery strategy game where players take turns firing their Mobiles to destroy enemies. Each Mobile artillery machine, commonly called Bots, has three moves and a unique way of firing. Players must move, use items, aim, and fire to take advantage of terrain and weather in order to claim victory.

Gunbound offers 28 different Bots, five modes, and in-depth avatar customization. Visit the Shop for items such as battle items, gear, and pets. Other features include a guild system, an enchant-jewel-level system, and custom-made game rooms. Cute 2D graphics with 3D maps bring to life the raging battles on Gunbound's planet of Lond. The game is made up of four different modes; Solo and Tag have you killing a mobile once (or two different ones in Tag) to win the battle whilst Score allots each player a set number of lives in a last-man-standing scenario. Jewel differs from the others entirely, here players must hit specific targets in order to score points, unfortunately this gets really boring really fast. When you finally enter a match the first thing you’ll notice are the graphics, they’re not exactly what you would call realistic but they are very well done. Everything is filled with bright colours and has a cutesy feel to it, from the cartoon-esque backgrounds to the mobiles with their big buggy eyes and vibrant paintjobs. As you start racking up those wins you’ll be given gold to spend in the shop.

You will only be able to buy something simple like a t-shirt at first but with a little time and patience the more significant items will start to look more obtainable. Each item in the shop comes with a set of stat modifiers, so if you purchase an item with a shield and the number twelve next to it then your defense will be raised by that much in your next match. Here lies a large portion of the games depth, mixing certain item combinations with others can turn you from a super defensive tank to a speedy player with frightful attack. You only have the choice between tops, bottoms, hats and facial items though so choosing the right outfit for the right situation is key. Before each match you’ll be given the option of equipping yourself with multiple power-ups, these vary from plasters that heal a small percentage of your health to items that make your shots more powerful for a single turn. Using the right power-up for the right situation really can turn the tide of a battle, although certain users can be put off by this and end up disabling them.

Maps come with different weather factors that players must take into account when moving, aiming, and firing. Equip your avatar with not just stat-boosting gear, but with cosmetic gear as well to set yourself apart. Choose from 28 Bots, each with their unique moves  and ways of firing. Keep things entertaining by playing different modes, like Tag, where players have two Bots and can switch between them.  Play together with others in a guild to acquire points and rank.
